Bill authored this report sharing the story of philanthropy’s unprecedented investments in assuring a fairer redistricting process in 2021-22. 

Bill was the lead writer of a 2024 report on an innovative participatory grantmaking initiative focused on achieving health equity for communities of color. 

Bill regularly partners with Carnegie Corporation of New York on reports and other writing focused on strengthening U.S. democracy, including a 2024 report on improving K-12 civic education.

Bill was the lead editor of a 2024 report on what it will take for nonprofits and movements to expand revenue streams for bigger, broader policy impact.  

Bill regularly partners with the Evelyn and Walter Haas, Jr. Fund on web content and stories spotlighting the Fund’s grantee partners and priorities.  

Bill was the lead writer for a recent refresh of the website of longtime client partner Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO). 

Bill authored a series of four issue briefs on legal problems related to housing insecurity in the U.S. and the role of civil legal aid in helping families facing eviction and other challenges. 

Bill has an ongoing relationship with The James Irvine Foundation focused on sharing the stories and perspectives of its nonprofit partners who are working to ensure more fairness and opportunity for workers living on low incomes in California.

Bill authored this report sharing the story of philanthropy’s engagement in the 2020 census, including lessons learned as funders continue to invest in civic participation, a stronger democracy, and the 2030 census in years to come.
